I found it very important to keep inspired throughout the entire project.  Inspiration came in many different shapes and forms.  Here are some great books, films and TV shows that really stuck in the mind, all for their own reasons.

Naked and Marooned - Ed Stafford attempts to survive alone on a Desert island for 60 days. With no clothes, no knife or anything except his camera, an emergency satellite phone and an emergency medical kit.

The Moneyless Man - A Year of Freeconomic Living by Mark Boyle "Imagine living for an entire year without money. Former businessman Mark Boyle did just that and here is his extraordinary and compelling story. How do friends and family react? What do you eat? How do you wash? Mark Boyle finds out the hard way and explores the troubling consequences of our obsession with money. Encountering cuttlefish toothpaste, seasonal foods, paper made out of mushrooms, and compost toilets, Boyle puts the fun into frugality and will inspire you to question what really matters in life."

The Good Life - Up the Yukon Without a Paddle by Dorian Amos "We knew nothing about the wilderness, but in a way that was our greatest strength... We would probably fail daily and eventually have to give up, but true failing for us, would have been to not even try." Told with warmth and humour, this is the compelling account of a young couple who give up a comfortable life in England to start a new one in the wilderness of the Yukon. They revel in the stark beauty of the landscape and rise to the challenges that confront them …. This story will convince readers to stop putting their dreams on hold. Be prepared to be inspired..."

Gunther Holtorf, you are my hero. Gunther Holtorf, a 75-year-old former airline CEO has driven more than 820,000 kilometers over the past two decades, doesn't care if you remember his travels. But you better respect Otto, his G Wagon that will be placed in a museum if it makes it through this final leg.  Gunther Holtorf has been living in his car for the better part of the last 23 years. He has driven 823,000 kilometers, a quarter of that on unpaved roads, all in a 1988 Mercedes G Wagon he calls “Otto,” across 172 sovereign countries, 17 dependent territories, six special territories, and five de-facto states. He’s driven to Tibet, Mt. Everest, Sudan, Iraq, and Afghanistan during periods of conflict, and became the first Westerner to drive in North Korea last year. He’s never been robbed and insists he’s never paid a bribe.
